*laughs* Chalandra's greatsword has no weapon visuals (other than flame weapon) and does both fire and acid damage. Anastasia's staff I added the visuals to. I do believe these can be changed with crafting, but I'd have to get a weapon with visuals to test for sure (other than the flame weapon spell).

A solution may just be to have a widget with teh ability to turn it off or on. ( With most "weapons" maybe just an "OnUsed" script to make the glow.

Mayhaps, even though this is stretching things a bit is a way to allow a PC to Turn off a visual effect, or even change it if they wanted. ( Don't want everyone to know your sword is Evil? Change the effect to say, a holy aura, fire, or something inconspicuos... or just turn it off.)

I've often wondered why Bioware didn't include say a "generic" blue glow, or a purple one in the effects department. ( Like the red "evil" glow, just different colored...) I don't like the acid cause it drips, and the cold cause it snowflakes. Fire is ok so is lightning..sonic is just weird.

As has been said in this thread before, the NWN engine adds the visual to any weapon that has 1d6 or greater in a SINGLE elemental/good/evil/etc damage, or any weapon that has a vs good/evil effect. You could stack 1d4 damage of every available type and still not have a visual, but tack on +1 attack vs evil and you get the holy visual. You can also manually add any visual via the toolset, but not remove ones placed by dmg or other effects.

It is hardcoded into bioware so it is possible to change but is it worth it? We can easily get rid of all the damages except of course holy and unholy as any time a class is invloved besides Neutral of course, it will glow. I would think then if someone has a glowy sword and wants it to do damage without the visuals then no worrys on the fix as we can do that but as for my unholy sword i am stuck....though there is the option of changing it to negative energy or postive energy or the option to make them all have the same visual which would be more of an idea in the long run. I personnally do not use my bad guy sword too much unless i am in disguise and need to for effect.

If you're getting rid of weapon visuals, why not get rid of spell visuals as well? Just a question, mind. But I don't think barkskin would really make your skin -look- like a tree.

i like the visuals..and i don't use something to show it off.. i just think it looks cool..but having a visual on something don't give you any effect when you hit ..shouldn't have one..like the Holy ones..my take on them i don't like them..for some reason it don't feel like it does anything it may say +2 verse evil but on attacking some things..i didn't notice anything and buffs didn't last long like the ones i used on my other swords

If you saw a visual on a 1d4 dmg weapon it either had a vs good/evil somewhere or the visual was added as an effect, which can be done to even a normal weapon.

-Spell- visuals are very easy to remove, they are assigned through the spellscripts. -Weapon- damage visuals for 1D6+ or 2+ damage of any sort are much harder to remove... we're thinking 2DA override (haven't been able to find it as of yet though) or even a HAK.

Some spells need the visual, like fire shield. But most buffing spells do not. My humble 2cp.
