One of the long overdue changes is the implementation of a new script to handle dishing out XP. This request has come out of the community a few times, mainly to deal with the problem that higher and lower levels at present have no point to band up, since it will mean little to no XP for either party, even when the lower levels take some risk.

Now, this new XP script (pwfxp, for those who know it, but slightly modified) does come with a default configuration, that may or may not be appropriate for our setting. So while this is being finetuned, XP might be either a mite too high (unlikely) or too low (more likely).

If you feel XP is off, please let us know through the bug forum, stating which monster was killed, what your party was (including any summons/companions/henchmen), who made the kill, and what the XP gain was.

So we've had an abortive attempt on this front that was rejected because ALL the XP was way too low. Is there truly nothing that can be done now?

I can't remember all that was 'wrong' when this was implimented, but it wasn't just that the experience per kill was 'too low' perse, there was something else that was a problem but for the life of me, I can't remember what. It's probably posted somewhere here, hopefully I can ferret it out.

Overall experience could have been tweaked, but the backlash was such that everyone simply wanted to go back to the old system. And no, pwfxp is something that runs on the monster's ondeath, so the DM XP has totally no effect on it.

Per this thread: http://nwngames.info/viewtopic.php?t=2092&start=30 Party XP is on the road to a fix. We'll give folks a few days to weigh in, and then go ahead with it unless there's a need for a change.
