I'd like to request the implementation of an option, in the Emote Wand or another of the widgets if need be, that allows a character to dismiss the spell buffs they're wearing that have fancy visual effects.

Effectively, it will only cancel the spells like Protection from Elements, Stoneskin, Protection from Good/Evil, Protection from Spells, Premonition, and so on.

It would be nice if ability buffs like Bulls Str etc were unaffected by this for when you're coming into town from an adventure, full of loot encumbrance, and just don't want to look like a Christmas tree while you do your business.

Basically I think having this option will stop the instances of people coming into towns fully buffed, but having to wait IG-Hours until they can rest in order to look normal again. (I also think that inn rooms shouldn't be affected by the rest timer, but that might just be me :P)

Maybe let me chime in on that: How about we -just- remove the visual effect, not the actual effects of said spell? It'll be very easy to make a script that blasts all visual effects but ignores the actual buff or ward.

Don't think I really like that... mostly because people would use that before adventuring if they don't like the visuals, and well, I like to know what buffs people have on them, and myself, so I can top things up if need be.

The suggestion is mainly so that people can drop their magic when they come to town, without having to wait until they can rest, so things don't look silly :)

Maybe an auto-script upon entering an area like a town?

I don't think that's a good idea as sometimes things happen in towns, such as a recent incursion of lizardmen to the Rivermoot gates. Having buffs automatically stripped when people enter towns would cause a lot of annoyance for players in cases like that.

This is implemented on Dragon Coast:Erithorns Might. If y'all need a quick script, ask 'em nice, they might let you use it. It's also very useful, nice, and does everything it's supposed to do with no bugs.

This will be implemented in the next module update as PC Caster's Debuff Wand, automatically assigned to all wizards, sorcerors, clerics and druids. Other PCs can request for it from a DM. The debuff wand will only debuff spells that -you- cast. If someone else buffed you, you'll have to ask them to debuff you.
